Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Black colour with garnet highlights. A straightforward nose with aromas of undergrowth and roasted black fruit. Grilled spices. Notes of warm vanilla caramel. Opens with notes of mocha. Supple attack with roundness and finesse. Frankly greedy, long-lasting character of aromatics and undergrowth. Good persistence on bitter cocoa, truffle.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

CHÂTEAU TOUR SAINT FORT
Through its history, Château Tour Saint-Fort is a witness to the recent history of Bordeaux wines. Like it, many "small" Châteaux have disappeared over the last few centuries. Production crises, particularly between 1850 and 1900 (the arrival of Oidium, Phylloxera and Mildew in Bordeaux), and economic crises, have taken their toll on many estates. Throughout its history, Château Tour Saint-Fort has been known as "Maison Cazeaux", Château Pineau, Cru Tour Pineau, and finally Tour Saint-Fort. The link between these different owners: the land, the vines and a few remains. The old two-storey vat house can still be seen, probably built at the end of the 19th century (although the gable forming the central bay has been demolished). This is the only surviving element of the former Tour du Château Pineau vineyard, along with the surrounding wall.
