Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose, although yet to open, offers a lovely bouquet, evolving towards notes of red fruit gratin, cocoa and bay leaf, with a touch of fresh leather.

The attack is velvety and fleshy, supported by silky tannins and a fine body.

The character reveals itself in roasted red fruit, milk chocolate and sweet spices, giving it a lovely intensity.

The finish is velvety and powerful, with long-lasting spices and red fruit gratin, offering fine finesse.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Second wine of Château Montlabert, this great wine remains faithful to the philosophy that guides the elaboration of the Grand Cru Classé.

Crafted with the same proportion of Merlot and Cabernet Franc as the first wine, it stands out for its beautiful structure, fruity aromas, elegant tannic balance, and silky texture.

Château Montlabert has a state-of-the-art winery and cellar, tools for achieving quality and precision.

The vineyard is cultivated like a garden with a practice of cover cropping for over 10 years.
