Our oenologists' opinion
Well-rounded
Coppery colour. Open nose with notes of vanilla, leather, caramel and apricot coulis, a hint of light tobacco. Greedy attack on leather and vanilla, notes of cigar and roasting. Character on toasted wood and yellow fruit au gratin, sweetness. The finish is frank, rather short, with leather and caramel and a hint of coconut.
- Keeping level Ready to drink
Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

ANGOSTURA
In 1932, Angostura bought back barrels that had been burnt down after the Trinidadian government burnt down its bonded cellars. Barrels that had been filled with a cane spirit distilled in 1919: a simply exceptional rum. Today, Angostura 1919 still offers a flavour profile very similar to that legendary rum discovered almost 90 years ago. A true ambassador of Angostura's artisanal heritage, 1919 is one of the most sought-after house bottlings in the world. Dry, on the rocks or in cocktails, it is ideal as an aperitif.
