Our oenologists' opinion
Well-rounded
Dark garnet colour with coppery reflections, limpid and brilliant. Open nose with notes of candied pepper, roasted plum and chocolate, nice hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Supple, satiny attack, ripe and supple tannins, character on the red fruit gratin, sapid. Less full-bodied and less roasted than the 2018. More elegant, hints of black pepper.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
The name "Les Demoiselles" dates back to the end of the Middle Ages when the estate was managed by a congregation of nuns who cultivated the vines and volunteered to teach the children of the Parish.

DUCOURT
Located between Saint-Émilion and Castillon la Bataille, Château Des Demoiselles is one of the Ducourt family's properties. Since 1858, the Ducourt family has been one of the largest independent winegrowing units in the Bordeaux region with 450 hectares of vineyards spread over 14 Châteaux in both the Entre-Deux-Mers and Saint Emilion regions.
Terroir: The 36 hectares of vines of Château Des Demoiselles are planted on a sandy-clay soil. The estate is managed using sustainable agriculture with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Viticulture: The vines are pruned "à la bordelaise" in Guyot. Green harvesting is practiced.
Vinification: A cold pre-fermentation maceration before alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. After a gentle vatting period of 3 weeks, the wine is matured in oak barrels for one year.
