Fruity and crisp

The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant buds, accompanied by a smoky minerality.

 

The balance is good, with a lovely freshness.

 

The wine is straightforward and upright, revealing a lovely character which evolves towards citrus fruit before returning to minerality.

 

The finish is taut and elegant.

 

A good, almost pearly effervescence adds vivacity.

 

The finish is sapid and greedy, marked by notes of citrus and exotic fruit.

Features

Domain and appellation

    Pouilly-Fumé owes its fame to the smoky aromas of flint stone that Sauvignon Blanc develops on the siliceous limestone soils.

     

    This grape variety appeared in the Loire at the end of the 19th century, following the destruction of the vineyards by phylloxera. Before that, the vineyards were almost entirely planted with Chasselas.
