Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is straightforward and distinctive, revealing aromas of grilled pepper, spices and fresh blackcurrants, with opening notes of pepper.

 

The palate is full-bodied, with an enveloping texture and good balance.

 

The wine is straightforward and distinctive, with a long finish of black fruit coulis.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • DOMAINE DE LA NOIRAIRE

    The DELANOUE Brothers, Michel, Pascale, and Jean-Paul, fifth-generation winemakers in Benais, Indre-et-Loire, AOP Bourgueil, decided to focus exclusively on viticulture in 1981, with just 2.5 ha of Cabernet Franc at the time.

     

    Today, the estate covers 50 ha in Bourgueil and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. Vincent and Guillaume, the sixth generation, joined them after gaining experience elsewhere. Each terroir is vinified separately to enhance its unique character.

     

    Fermentations with music, carriage rides, horse work in the vineyard, replanting Chenin Blanc on their terroir, a great atmosphere, and local involvement are activities that define their unique identity.
