Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is clean and woody, with hints of butter and brioche.

It opens with aromas of acacia and candied yellow fruit.

On the palate, the attack is supple, offering body and good balance with a pleasant roundness.

Although the character is discreet, it remains frank with a certain tension.

Pleasant persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Founded in 1947 by André-Marcel Goichot, the reins of Maison Goichot have been held by his son, André-Marie Goichot, since 1987.

The Goichot family owns several vineyards, one in the Côte de Beaune and the other in the Côte Chalonnaise.

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Goichot

Location and Terroir: South of Beaune, between Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet, the Meursault vineyard opens a golden door, that of « La Côte des Blancs ».

On this exceptional terroir, Meursault wines enhance the expression of Chardonnay.

    • Vinification and Aging: The grapes are pressed directly after harvest, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels. Aging lasts about 12 months before preparation for bottling.

    • Food Pairing: Without overwhelming them, our Meursault enhances dishes such as fine cuts of veal or poultry in white sauce, elevated by the wine’s creamy texture and its long, distinguished acidity.
