Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and fruity, dominated by aromas of yellow fruit, notably mango, passion fruit and lychee, accompanied by notes of apricot jam.

The wine is well-balanced, frank and straightforward, with good sweetness but no heaviness.

Floral notes of wisteria and lilac complete the bouquet.

The finish is straightforward and delicious, with aromas of crunchy fruit, offering good length and a sensation of freshness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINES SCHLUMBERGER

The Kitterlé was first mentioned in 1699. In 1782, twelve "schatz" vines were found to be the exclusive property of the Jesuits of Ensisheim. This slope has been marketed under its own name since 1830.

    Location :
The Kitterlé is a volcano-sandstone terroir situated in a unique mountain-edge site, forming a rocky spur offering 3 exposures (south-west, south, and south-east). The light, sandy soil, held by vast dry stone walls, allows only a limited yield (25 to 35 hl/ha).

    Vinification
Whole grape pressing, static racking. Fermentation in thermoregulated oak casks for 1 to 4 months. Aging on the lees for 8 months.
