Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Dark garnet colour with bright red highlights. Open nose with notes of eucalyptus, roasted coffee, roasted plum and nutmeg, hint of liquorice. Supple attack, satiny tannins, small body, small character on spices and morello cherry juice, hint of caramel. Sapid finish, good balance, small length on roasted wood and liquorice.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

CHÂTEAU RAHOUL
A historic castle, whose origins date back to the 17th century, when the Chevalier Rahoul built this beautiful chartreuse. - A coat of arms that pays homage to its past. - A member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. - A diversity of terroirs which favours the adaptation of the grape varieties to the nature of each soil: - Merlot finds its preferred terroir on sandy gravel and clayey gravel soils. - Semillon flourishes on the sandy gravels where it shows its best potential. - The red wines are full of finesse and elegance, where the expression of fruity Merlot is enhanced by the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon. - A Château that is increasingly well rated by the international press.
