Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Bright lemon yellow colour. Nice frank nose of yellow fruits, dried apricots, notes of acacia honey, mineral. Good balance on a rather full-bodied, frank wine, nice character with notes of curry spices, sweet spices. Good, frank and slightly warm aftertaste.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
This former manor house, renovated in the 19th century and then bought by the Castel family in 1992, has state-of-the-art facilities.
Domain and appellation

Château Ferrande
The 94-hectare estate is planted on gravelly, sandy soil with a mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon and Sauvignon.
Viticulture: The density of plantation is high, with an average of 9000 vines per hectare, in order to guarantee berries that are always concentrated in sugar.
Vinification: The winery has a high-tech press that allows the juice to be extracted gently. The technique used differs according to the grape variety. The Merlot grapes are vinified in such a way as to enhance their fruitiness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are vinified in such a way as to refine their structure. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of between 28 and 30°C. The wines are aged for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new. -
