Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is open, frank and greedy, revealing a seductive bouquet with lovely notes of roasted plums, dark chocolate, coffee beans, a hint of mocha and young leather.

Supple on the palate, with long, fat tannins offering a lovely envelope.

Lovely character with leather, tobacco and cocoa.

The finish is satiny, rich and full-bodied, with notes of candied pepper and undergrowth.

Lovely character and persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château de Camarsac

Perched on its promontory and surrounded by a green haven, Château de Camarsac is one of the few Bordeaux wine estates that majestically embodies the name Château in its literal and historical sense.

Since 2007, Solange and Thierry Lurton have been working with their teams to enhance their heritage while strongly committing to their climate footprint.

With their team, they aim to share with everyone the heritage and history surrounding this ever-evolving building, despite its three-quarters of a millennium age.
