Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful wine with potential

Sustained crimson color, frank nose of blackberries, blackcurrant syrup, blueberries then roasted wood, hint of red pepper. On the palate, good balance, on a full-bodied, full-bodied, vinous wine with finesse, frank character on aromas of roasted wood, pepper, underlying animal notes, the tannins are dense, tight.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU COS LABORY

The Château takes its name from its geographical location on the hill of Cos and from the name of François Labory, who owned it until 1845. Monsieur d'Estournel then acquired the property before selling it to an English banker, Charles Martyns, in 1852. George Weber finally bought the property in the 1930s, before bequeathing it to his daughter and son-in-law, François AUDOY, in 1959.
