Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Purple in colour. Fresh blackcurrant, spices and wood on the nose. Opens on red fruit, candied, peppery notes. Supple and round on the palate, with a long, full-bodied finish. Good balance. Clean, persistent finish.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

DOMAINE FAIVELEY
Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley owns more than 120 hectares of vines. The aim of Eve Faiveley and Erwan Faiveley, the 7th generation, is to reveal the greatest terroirs of Burgundy in a style that combines power, finesse and elegance. VINIFICATION & REFINEMENT The grapes are cut and sorted by hand. The skins are punched twice a day to extract colour, tannins and aromas. After 15 to 19 days in vats, alcoholic fermentation is completed. The free-run wine is drained off by gravity, while a slow, gentle pressing of the pomace produces a press wine of great purity. For 12 months, we mature our wines in French oak barrels (10% of which are new) selected for their fine grain and moderate toasting in our cellars, which have a natural, constant temperature and humidity.
