BARTON & GUESTIER
Pernand-Vergelesses is located on the upper part of the Côte de Beaune. Most of the vineyards are exposed to the east, south, and some to the northeast.
The soil at the foot of the slope is composed of clay-limestone with chaillots (siliceous residues from flint-limestone). These soils are loose, rich in potassium and phosphoric acid.
At the top, the marl soils, brown or yellowish, are dedicated to Chardonnay. The climate is continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The wine is made using the traditional Burgundian method.
It is aged in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months, with 30% new barrels.
The harvest is manual, with a careful selection made to eliminate overripe or under-ripe grapes, either directly in the vineyard or in the cellar on a sorting table. It has a beautiful golden color with some green reflections.
On the nose, the wine is creamy, sun-kissed, and presents aromas of exotic fruits. It has great length on the palate, with notes of almond paste.
