Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Created by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet Réserve is made from an extremely refined selection of parcels to bring out the best of Bordeaux's terroirs.

Domain and appellation

  • Mouton Cadet

Created in 1930 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet wines reflect the diversity and richness of the Bordeaux terroir through a wine that is accessible to everyone.

Terroir: The harvests come from partnerships established with growers from the Pauillac appellation. Located on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, this appellation is notable for hosting three châteaux that are part of the prestigious 1855 classification.

    • Viticulture: These long-standing partnerships allow for a high-end parcel selection. The growers are bound by the requirements of the Mouton Cadet house through the specifications.

    • Winemaking: Combining modernity and technicality, the blending of the key varietals from the Bordeaux region is precise and aims to maintain the typical blackcurrant note. The incorporation of a water treatment station using reed beds allows Mouton Cadet to extend its so-called eco-friendly practices.
