Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
The nose is frank and delicately peaty, revealing hints of toasted cereals and dried fruit. On the palate, a supple attack reveals a beautifully balanced roundness. The lingering finish is frank and full-bodied, offering a typical, assertive peaty character with beautiful harmony. The finish is luscious and lingering, underlined by saline notes that invite you to savour every moment.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

LAGAVULIN
Following the huge response to the launch of the limited edition Lagavulin 8 Year Old to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary, Lagavulin has decided to make this version a permanent fixture in the range. This 8 Year Old was previously an iconic reference for the distillery. Although younger than its 16-year-old sibling, it offers more assertive peaty aromas thanks to its 48% strength.
