Powerful bouquet

A fairly deep copper colour.

 

The nose reveals a warm touch, followed by notes of old leather, candied fruit and cocoa.

 

The palate is perfectly balanced and uncompromising.

 

The finish reveals aromas of dried fruit and vanilla wood.

 

  • Keeping level Ready to drink

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Whisky is a grain spirit (malted or not) produced in Scotland, while Whiskey is produced in Ireland or the United States, where it is commonly called ‘Bourbon’.

Domain and appellation

  • Maker's Mark

    At the end of Prohibition, the Samuels family resumed distilling and decided to create a new whisky in a square bottle sealed with red wax.

     

    The first bottle of Maker's Mark, produced in Loretto, Kentucky, was sold in 1958. In 2005, Maker's Mark was acquired by Fortune Brands.

     


    Made from corn, barley, and wheat (but without rye, unlike traditional Bourbons), Maker's Mark also stands out for its undetermined aging process.

     

    However, it must age for at least 2 years to qualify as a "straight bourbon".
