Powerful bouquet

The nose is straightforward, revealing aromas of blackcurrant and red fruit, accompanied by hints of menthol and pepper.

 

The character is straightforward and distinctive, with a subtle hint of ‘pinot’.

 

On the palate, the attack is supple and well-balanced.

 

There are aromas of mocha and candied blackcurrant, as well as notes of fresh spices, all underpinned by good tension.

 

The character is frank and greedy.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

    Mechanical harvesting begins in mid-September, at optimal ripeness. A portion of the grapes undergoes cold pre-fermentation maceration to extract color and aromas.

     

    The remainder is vinified using traditional methods, with controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation and a short maceration.

     

    The wine is mainly aged in vats to retain varietal aromas, while a portion is barrel-aged to bring aromatic complexity.

     

    The wine is bottled early to preserve its freshness.
