Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and light

The straightforward, distinctive nose opens with aromas of candied black fruit, accompanied by a hint of sweet spices that add complexity.

The round, generous attack continues with candied red fruit, typical of Malbec, offering a fine texture.

The persistence, both medium-bodied and clean, leaves a warm, gourmet impression, inviting you to enjoy the wine to the full.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • FAMILLE BOUGRIER RESERVE DE LA FAMILLE

At the origin of the House in 1855, the first generation already believed in the potential of the Côt grape on our terroirs of Saint Georges sur Cher.

Six generations later, the Côt thrives more than ever on our clay-limestone soils of Touraine and produces wines very different from its cousins in the South-West and South America.
