Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Bright pale yellow colour with green tints. Nice open nose of exotic fruits, yellow fruits, fresh pineapple notes, floral hint of mimosas. Nice balance, frank, straightforward, fine, fairly full-bodied, nice character that extends the aromas of the nose, touch of minerality, warm touch, dry and lively. The finish is rather tense, young.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

A symbol of the human adventure of Saint-Mon, the beret has been worn with pride by our winemakers for generations, in the vineyards and all over the world. The Béret Blanc is harvested by hand according to tradition.

Domain and appellation

  • PLAIMONT EN GASCOGNE

The vineyards of Plaimont stretch from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the rolling hills of Gascony. The winegrowers committed to the HVE (High Environmental Value) label cultivate autochthonous grape varieties (Tannat and Pinenc in red, Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu in white). Concerned about preserving the identity of their territory, Plaimont is as much a social as an economic player by being involved in the development and animation of their region. Saint Mont is the first AOC in France to have a parcel of vines that is over 150 years old. Its particularly sandy soil has enabled it to resist phylloxera. This parcel of pre-phylloxera vines was registered in June 2012 as a Historic Monument.
