Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose, initially closed and reduced, opens up to notes of cocoa, mocha and cherry stones, with a hint of bay leaf sauce.

The pearly attack requires a slight degassing, before revealing varietal notes of undergrowth, brambles, pits and a hint of humus.

Balance and tension are present, with a slight touch of fur.

The finish is fairly light, marked by tension and a touch of minerality, thirst-quenching and distinctive.

Features

Body The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Tannins Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

The Union of Saint-Pourçain Winemakers' Cellar unites 40 cooperative members who cultivate around 350 hectares of vineyards, representing about two-thirds of the vineyard area. Each is dedicated to delivering high-quality grapes.
