Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The open, mouth-watering nose begins with frank amylic notes, before opening out into a more complex register combining citrus fruit, vanilla, coriander and a hint of white pepper, bringing freshness and originality.

The powerful, fleshy attack, underpinned by tension, reveals a little red fruit and citrus character, in a well-structured whole.

The crisp finish is marked by redcurrant and pomegranate, with a pleasant lingering note of white pepper.

A generous, lively rosé, both expressive and structured, with a well-defined aromatic profile.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU CAVALIER

Château Cavalier, acquired by the Castel family in 2000, won them over with the charm of the vineyard and the quality of its clay-rich terroirs, producing well-balanced grapes.

This sun-drenched estate is ideally located between the Massif des Maures and the foothills of the Haut-Var Alps.

Named after the stream that runs through it, the estate is renowned for the aromatic expression and minerality of its rosés.
