Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is open with notes of toasted wood and vanilla, followed by fresh citrus fruit, white flowers and fresh almonds.

Supple attack with tension and freshness, presenting a frank, floral character with well-integrated woody nuances.

The finish is clean and full-bodied, with a slight envelope and medium persistence on citrus fruit and milk toffee, accompanied by slight tension.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • MAISON CASTEL

Maison Castel offers you, through its Grande Réserve wines, a selection of varietals recognized from the Pays d’Oc. Cuvées are carefully selected and vinified with special attention. Will you be able to distinguish their character?

Terroir: This Chardonnay Grande Réserve, selected from the terroirs of Pays d’Oc, benefits from the Protected Geographical Indication. The Pays d’Oc, with its diverse soils and Mediterranean climate, allows this varietal to reveal its potential, particularly its aromatic range.

Vinification: A selection of grapes and special attention during the vinification create the character and elegance of this wine.

Separation of free-run juice and press juice, followed by racking.

The musts are racked and sent to fermentation between 15 and 17°C to enhance tropical aromas and stone fruit.

The wines are aged on fine lees for 2 to 3 months with regular stirring, which gives them greater mouthfeel and aromatic complexity.
