Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose, still closed, reveals a discreet woodiness which slowly opens up to aromas of roasting, grilled spices and roasted blackcurrants.

On the palate, the attack is supple, marked by roundness and good balance.

The finish is frank and delicious, although slightly marked by a hint of reduction, recommending decanting to reveal its full potential.

The wine has a pleasant persistence, suggesting that it will evolve well after ageing for at least 1 to 2 years.

A young wine, to be kept for future enjoyment.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE DE BONSERINE

Following the damage caused by the frost in 2021, special care was given to the vines to repair the aftermath.

The dry winter brought fairly harsh temperatures, and the water deficit persisted through spring and the scorching summer.

Thankfully, the August rains were a saving grace, preventing phenolic blockages. The wines are rich and fruity, delivering astonishing balance.
