Fruity and well-rounded

Pale straw yellow with bright yellow highlights, limpid and brilliant. The nose is open, frank and floral, with notes of citrus fruit, lilac and white pepper. The attack is supple, greedy and well-balanced, extending the nose. Well-balanced, with a fine expression of Chardonnay and a hint of minerality. Crisp finish, with citrus fruit and iodine notes, good openness, medium persistence.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Le saviez-vous ?

As in Burgundy, Beaujolais Blanc is made from 100% noble Chardonnay grapes grown on predominantly chalky Beaujolais terroirs.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • Maison COQUARD

    Maison COQUARD is a family estate founded in 1881 and located in the south of the Beaujolais vineyards in the Pays des Pierres Dorées. Christophe COQUARD is the son of Beaujolais winegrowers.

    Traditional Guyot flat pruning Vines 45/50 years old on average. The plots face south-east and are located on predominantly limestone and stony marl-limestone soils. Yields of around 50 hl/ha for the 2022 vintage. Planting density of 7 to 8,500 vines/ha. Harvested by hand, with a proportion (around 35%) picked by machine. The harvest was particularly healthy and very ripe, with almost no need for sorting on the harvesting machine or in the vineyard.
