Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

A clean, floral nose with aromas of jasmine, white flowers and white peach.

Supple attack, marked by freshness and balance.

Straightforward, floral character, with a long, sapid finish and a hint of minerality.

Good persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • AM QUENARD

The André and Michel Quenard vineyard is a family estate that was created in its current form in 1976, but whose tradition of vine-growing and wine-making dates back to the 17th century. Today, Guillaume, Michel's son and André's grandson, carries on this tradition.

It is on the famous Torméry hillside, renowned throughout the ages and which adorns the rocky mountain of Chignin, that our family estate produces a range of incomparably original white, red and rosé wines in the ‘Vin de Savoie Chignin’ and ‘Chignin Bergeron’ appellations.

The vines are planted at altitudes from 300 metres up to 400 metres, with slopes ranging from 40 to 70%. The vines are worked by hand right up to the harvest, and the wine is made in the traditional way.

This demanding viticulture, based on common sense and respect for nature, produces authentic wines with character. Our wines reveal the terroir and the grape variety in all their purity and elegance.
