Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Deep salmon colour with hints of old pink. Open nose with notes of redcurrant, lingonberry and morello cherry, with a hint of blood orange. Full, fleshy attack, with notes of red berries and citrus fruit, good body and good balance. The finish is fleshy and well-balanced, with redcurrant and pink grapefruit, a hint of minerality and good persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • In 1997, Pascale & Gilles Pons-Massenot, driven by a passion for wine, the terroir and a love of Provence, created Château Les Valentines. Located in La Londe Les Maures, on the Mediterranean coast between Toulon and Saint-Tropez, the estate extends over 50 hectares of schist, benefiting from the AOP Côtes de Provence ‘La Londe’ terroir designation and organic wine certification by Ecocert.
