Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark garnet colour with brick tints. Open nose with notes of dark chocolate, roasted plums, toasted wood and nutmeg, hint of leather. Supple, satiny attack, tension, fullness, great finesse, beautiful substance. Nice character with roasted and red fruit gratin. Satiny finish, nice envelope. Beautiful lingering cocoa and tobacco flavours.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU LA GRACE DIEU

Chateau LA GRACE DIEU les Menuts is located on a mosaic of the greatest terroirs of Saint-Emilion, to the west on the gravelly hilltops adjacent to Chateau Figeac and Cheval Blanc and to the east of the medieval town, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, on the clay-limestone plateau of the "Menuts". A family business since 1870, six generations have succeeded one another and have done everything possible, between tradition and modernity, to respect the typicality of its terroirs and to develop the current 17 hectares. Certified ISO 14001 and High Environmental Value Level 3, various agronomic techniques are used to encourage biodiversity in our vineyard and life in our soils in order to develop better resistance in our vines and limit the impact on the environment.
