Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour. Nose of milk caramel, roasting, hint of dried thyme, rockrose. Balanced, full-bodied, heady. Character of dry spices, roasting, tannins without fat but melted. Short finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine d'Aussières

    The property is nestled in the steep hills just off the Mediterranean coast at Narbonne in the south of France. The grapes used for Château d'Aussières come from selected plots at the top of the slopes. In this part of the vineyard, the soils are very shallow and consist of sandy sandstone, with little clay and dryness. As a result, yields on these plots are very low. This wine is mainly a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with some Grenache and Carignan. The Mourvèdre vines, which have now reached maturity, produce a grape of great quality. Green harvesting combined with meticulous sorting of the grapes aims to obtain a powerful wine of great precision.
