The prestigious career of Cheval Blanc began in 1832 with the purchase of the heart of the estate by Jean-Jacques Ducasse, president of the Libourne court. Over the next twenty years, successive purchases of plots from Château Figeac enabled the creation of the Cheval Blanc estate, whose 39-hectare plot has remained virtually unchanged since then.
