In 1867, Alexandre de Bethmann became the mayor of Bordeaux. Château Olivier entered the family through the marriage of his grandson. Jean-Jacques de Bethmann took over in 1982, and in 2021, Eleonore de Bethmann succeeded her brother and took over the governance.
