Fruity and well-rounded

Its spicy nose, marked by typical aromas of black pepper and cumin, is enriched by jammy notes of black fruit and a hint of woodiness reminiscent of roasting.

 

On the palate, the supple attack gives way to a well-structured wine with body and fine balance.

 

Its mouth-watering texture reveals flavours of black fruit gratin, accompanied by a long, full finish, the sign of a generous, accomplished wine.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • CHÂTEAU DES CRÈS RICARDS

    This estate was established in 1960 on the Les Crès Ricards site, located in the commune of Ceyras. In 2010, Jean-Claude Mas acquired the estate’s 27 hectares, expanding it to 42 hectares in 2013.

     

    Fascinated by the exceptional terroir of Terrasses du Larzac, he explores its full potential to craft wines that are velvety and intensely aromatic.

     

    Nestled at the foot of Mont Baudile, the vineyard benefits from a unique geography with its red soils, schists, and rolled pebbles.

     

    The low yields and strict grape selection ensure generous and high-quality wines. In 2012, Jean-Claude Mas purchased additional surrounding vineyards, bringing the total area of Les Crès Ricards to its current 42 hectares.
