Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHATEAU DU BOIS DE LA GARDE

Located between Avignon and Orange, Château du Bois de la Garde is owned by the Vignobles Mousset-Barrot. Specialising in Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the estate produces only AOC wines, country wines, and Village appellations.

Terroir: The estate, with the appearance of a Provençal bastide, dominates a continuous estate of 60 hectares. The vineyard faces southwest and rests on rolled pebbles soil, which stores heat during the day and releases it at night.

Viticulture: The estate takes pride in explaining the care given to the vines throughout the year. The viticultural work is precise and adapted to the Mistral wind. Harvesting is mostly manual, and the vines are pruned in gobelet style.

Vinification: In the cellar, the wine ferments and macerates for 15 days in temperature-controlled tanks before being aged in concrete vats
