Well-rounded

Pale gold colour with coppery highlights, clear and brilliant. The nose is open with notes of grain, white chocolate, dried apricot and tobacco, a hint of mineral and candied yellow fruit. Round, greedy, balanced attack, the alcohol is melted, prolongs the notes of the nose. Well-balanced finish, typical of whiskey, on grain, caramel and pepper.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Since 1975, Powers has been produced at the famous Midleton distillery, one of the most modern in the world, in Cork. The old distillery has been converted into a museum and is now a must-see in the region.

    Powers Gold Label is recognised by connoisseurs as a whiskey of the highest quality, thanks to the high percentage of Pure Pot Still in the blend, the quality of its barley and the water selected. Triple distillation and 7 years' ageing in first and second fill bourbon casks are also essential features of the whiskey-making process. This process gives Powers whiskey inimitable complexity, finesse and roundness.
