    The Hakushu distillery was founded half a century after Yamazaki. Keizo Saji inherited his father's vision and in his quest for innovation built this second Suntory distillery in 1973. Located in the middle of the deepest forests of Mount Kaikomagatake in the Southern Japanese Alps, Hakushu is without doubt one of the highest distilleries in the world. The majestic forest surrounding the distillery is home to an abundance of plant varieties.
