Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

A dark mahogany colour with hints of carmine, limpid and brilliant, which captures the light with depth.

The nose is open and frank, revealing aromas of cereals, white truffles, spices and bitter orange, with a hint of alcohol.

The mouth-filling attack is marked by a pleasant sweetness, followed by smoky notes.

The character then asserts itself with aromas of young leather, crème brûlée and tobacco leaf.

The clean, powerful finish develops sweetness and lingers for a long time, with candied yellow fruit, hints of cranberry and a touch of cinnamon, subtly smoky, evoking the world of a whisky with character.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • SirDavis

SirDavis is a tribute to Davis Hogue, the great-grandfather of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, a farmer and whisky smuggler in the southern United States during his lifetime. Four generations later, this legacy takes shape.

To orchestrate this creation, Moët Hennessy enlisted Dr. Bill Lumsden, an award-winning and respected master distiller in the spirits world for his work with the Scottish whisky brands Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.

An award-winning whisky offering a new and unexpected facet of American whisky.
