Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful wine with potential
Luminous old gold colour. Straightforward nose of toast, smoky notes, a hint of heather followed by yellow fruit and candied fruit. Well-balanced, straightforward, full-bodied with a hint of body. Fairly pronounced character, a continuation of the aromas on the nose. The finish deserves a little more ageing.
- Keeping level Ready to drink
Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

GLENFARCLAS
Glenfarclas is one of the oldest distilleries in Speyside and still distills whisky by hand in the purest tradition. Glenfarclas uses huge stills for the production of its whisky, which explains the richness of the distillate. Moreover, it is only aged in first fill sherry casks, which previously contained Oloroso or Fino sherry from Spain, and the bottling is in its natural colour, which comes from the cask. No caramel is added.
