Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The wine is limpid and brilliant, with an open nose of candied orange, gingerbread, candied lemon and hints of basil and aniseed.

On the palate, the attack is greedy and syrupy, with a sweetness that is lightened by the alcohol.

There's a distinctive character of bitter orange and candied mandarin.

The finish is spicy and spicy, with a good balance between sugar, spice and alcohol.

The long finish continues with notes of spice and candied orange.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • COINTREAU

The Cointreau liqueur originated in Angers in 1875. Its recipe, kept secret from generation to generation for over 150 years, offers a unique flavour born from the subtle meeting of sweet orange peels and bitter orange peels, selected from Spain and Brazil for their aromatic qualities.

The power, freshness, and notes of orange peels in Cointreau have inspired the greatest mixologists in the creation of famous cocktails such as the Margarita or the Cosmopolitan, and earned it a prominent place in the world’s most renowned bars.
