Our oenologists' opinion

Deep amber colour with a mahogany sheen. Frank and open nose of jammy yellow fruit, cooked prunes, hints of burnt caramel, hint of vanilla. Beautiful balance, frank, full-bodied, powerful, great frank character with aromas of cooked fruits, leather, notes of salted butter caramel, brioche. Beautiful balance, full-bodied, ample, round. Beautiful finesse, beautiful elegance, signed character. Long, tense, powerful and elegant finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Monluc

House Located in the north of the Gers, on the dominant part of Saint-Puy, Château Monluc was built on the remains of a 13th century castle. It is the paternal home of the writer and man of arms Blaise de Monluc, famous for his "Commentaires".
The wine and the liqueur are made for each other, from the same terroir and the same vineyard. Château de Monluc also produces Côtes de Gascogne vins de Pays, Floc de Gascogne and Armagnac.
