Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Straw yellow colour with some golden reflections, fine, persistent bubbles, nice cordon. Winey nose of pits, morello cherries, notes of casks, mocha. Nice balance with a full and robust Champagne, frank and straightforward. Nice character, notes of red fruits, gingerbread, hint of sweet spices, nice length on the finish with creamy bubbles. A lovely non-dosed Champagne that will stand up to a meal.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Georges Vesselle

At the foot of the Montagne de Reims, the Georges Vesselle vineyard represents 18 hectares spread around the village at mid-slope, an exceptional exposure which ensures a perfect quality of wines. The vineyard claims the Grand Cru appellation, a much sought-after label in Champagne. The family estate has existed for several generations. Today, Eric and Bruno Vesselle, Georges' sons, continue their father's work and put into practice all the knowledge and passion that has been passed on to them. Pinot Noir represents 90% of the vineyard's grape varieties. It is one of the pillars of the House's identity. Renowned for its finesse and fruitiness, it produces wines of great elegance, structure, length and power.
