Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU CHEVROL BEL AIR

    Located in Néac, Château Chevrol Bel Air has a 30-hectare terroir spread over three appellations: Lalande de Pomerol, Montagne Saint-Emilion and Bordeaux Supérieur. Terroir: The 20-hectare vineyard in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation is planted on silico-clay soils with a subsoil of chalk and gravel. Most of the vines are Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Viticulture: The vines are on average 40 years old. Harvesting is carried out on extremely ripe fruit, with selective sorting in the vineyard. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel or cement vats for three weeks. The wines are then matured in stainless steel vats combined with oak barrels to preserve the fruity aromas and a discreet woodiness, as well as careful oxygenation of the wine.
