Fruity and well-rounded

Ruby colour with garnet highlights. Open nose of cherry syrup, blackcurrant and blueberry, followed by notes of liquorice and gunflint. Crisp attack, tension, fine balance on a frank, straightforward, fleshy wine. Fresh red fruit character. Crisp, sapid finish, medium persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Built in the 12th century, the Château de la Pierre was one of the main fortified points that ensured the defence of the capital of the Sires de Beaujeu. Owned by the Loron family, it covers an area of 12 hectares of 50-year-old vines.

SOIL Soils composed of weathered granite and decomposing "Pierres Bleues". VINIFICATION & AGEING Manual harvest, partial destemming followed by a 15 day maceration. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
