Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
Built under Louis XIII by Bernard de Pennautier, Treasurer of the States of Languedoc, the Château de Pennautier has been a family estate since 1620, and was enlarged in 1670 by Le Vau, architect of the Château de Versailles.

Maison LORGERIL
The château is a listed historic monument and has a strong influence on the history of the Languedoc region. As early as 1701, Pennautier wines were served at the table of the king's officers in Versailles. Since 1960, the vineyard has been entirely renovated and reassembled on the higher plots. Direct heir of the Pennautier family, Nicolas de Lorgeril is the 10th generation of winegrowers since the creation of the estate which he took over in 1987.
